Support to understand options for study, training, or work
Careers Network supports young people to explore their interests, build confidence, and take practical steps toward education, training, or employment. We provide guidance, encouragement, and access to programs designed to help young people move forward at their own pace.
Whether you are still at school, transitioning into work, or unsure about what comes next, our team is here to help you understand your options and make informed decisions.
Access to work placements and learning opportunities
Careers Network coordinates structured workplace learning for students studying Vocational Education and Training (VET) at school or TAFE. Work placement is a mandatory component of most VET courses undertaken in Years 11 and 12 and usually requires a minimum of 70 hours.
Work placement allows students to apply classroom learning in a real workplace, develop employability skills, and gain valuable industry experience.
We support students throughout the process, from registration and preparation through to placement completion.
Guidance to help young people make confident next steps
Work placement programs form part of NSW Secondary School curriculum. They are for students in Years 11 and 12 who are enrolled in the Higher School Certificate industry recognised courses.
Work placement enables your child to spend a period of time in an industry based setting, enhancing their classroom learning and building their industry skills.
We understand the important role parents and carers play and are committed to providing clear information and support throughout the process.
