Careers Networking with Business

Work placement is mandatory for all students enrolled in Vocational Education and Training (VET) subjects in year 11 and 12 at school or TAFE. Most courses have a minimum of 70Hours structured work placement to be counted as part of the students Higher School Certificate (HSC).

As an employer hosting a student allows you to:

• Participate in the education; career and vocational training of young people.
• Promote the attitudes and skills you want in your workforce
• Identify young people with potential for your industry
• Increase the supervisory, mentoring skills of your staff
• Gives students knowledge and expectations of what employers require in the workplace
